Roman Sedlmaier is a German attorney-at-law.
He earned his first degree in electrical engineering in 1994 and obtained a law degree in 1997 from the
University in Munich. He was admitted as a Rechtsanwalt in 2000. Dr. Sedlmaier received his doctorate (Dr.
rer. pol.) in 2004 and has published several articles in law journals.
Dr. Sedlmaier is a member of the German Federal Government expert commission on software patent
law. He has acted as a consultant for the members of the European Parliament in respect of the
planned directive on patentability of computer-implemented inventions.
He specializes in software patent and copyright law, public and fiscal law.
