Hidero Niioka is a German and US Attorney at Law (N.Y.). He was educated at Ludwig
Maximilian University of Munich, where he gained his law degree 1996.
He advises international
clients in all aspects of IP law in the fields of healthcare, pharma & biotech and other
technologies. In particular, he advises strategies for IP commercialization assertion/enablement of
IPs, creation of IP asset funds, securitization & other debt financing methods, modeling of
valuation tactics for shopping deals and investment purposes with venture capitalists and private
equity companies.
After his specialization in tax law and having passed the "Certified Specialist in
Tax Law", he began with his doctoral thesis Clinical Trials in Patent Law – A Comparative Study
of Effective Patent Term
Extension and Supplementary Protection Certificate, Protection of Test Data and
Experimental Use Exemption in Europe, Japan and U.S. in 1999 as a fellow and research assistant
of Prof. Josef Straus at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and
Unfair Competition Law.
