Thomas Leske graduated in marine engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) from the University of Rostock in 1972, obtaining a doctorate in 1988. He was a visiting professor at the University of Cochin, India, in the Ship Technology Department from 1983-86, and a professor at the University of Rostock, department of Marine Engineering from 1988-92. He worked in shipyards and in the marine engine industry from 1976-81.

His career in intellectual property began in 1992, when he joined the patent division of Kraftanlagen Heidelberg. The following year, he joined the firm Bardehle et al where he became a partner in 1998. He joined the Frohwitter firm as a partner in 2002.

Over the last 12 years, he has specialized in prosecution, litigation and licensing of inventions in mechanical engineering in Germany, Europe and the US.

Dr. Leske is admitted to practice at the European Patent Office, German Patent and Trademark Office, German Federal Patent Court, German Supreme Court and the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (Community Trademarks and Designs).

Thomas Leske speaks German, English and Russian.
