Jan Gigerich obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of
Karlsruhe, Germany. He studied at the Research Center for Information Technology (FZI) in
Karlsruhe.
He worked as a development engineer and team leader in the field of mobile telecommunications
systems on projects in Portugal, Belgium and Poland. Following that, he worked as in-house patent
attorney with IBM in Germany, representing and advising the firm on all aspects of intellectual
property rights.
Jan Gigerich joined the Frohwitter firm in April 2003.
He specializes in intellectual property law, licensing, patent valuation, litigation as well as
computer and information technology-related patent and copyright practice.
He is admitted to practice before the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), the European Patent
Office, Federal Patent Court (BPatG), Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market - Trademarks
and Design (OHIM).
Jan Gigerich speaks German and English.
